Unfortunately, the instruction manual that came with the device does a VERY POOR job of explaining how to use the device.

How do I adjust the traction?

Besides the thumbscrew, the bar itself is able to rotates freely from the thumbscrew. Is that good?

First make sure you have a good grip. Try taking off the main device... and only put on the end with the silicone tube. Fasten it with a setup of your liking... and pull it with your hand to see if it holds... and how long. Once you are happy... take it off and put on the entire device again.
The bottom reading bars should be screwed and tightened to the thumbscrews, so that your focus is on the thumbscrew and allongation bars. Now screw the thumbscrews as on the manual (don't exceed the max so that is falls apart).

If you see no traction increase on the readings (or feel any for that matter)... add another allongation bar (0.5" or 1"), screw the thumbscrew to the lowest traction again and build your way up. Remember... just because it shows no traction in the reading... doesn't mean you are not stretching. Your penis might need to get used to be stretched, before you can start going past the 600grams mark. So how is your progress?
